VOGMA Celebrates 5 Years In The Midst Of A Pandemic

Mobile, AL - The Voices of Gospel Music Awards that honors, appreciate and recognizes independent gospel music artists continue it’s celebration in the middle of a pandemic with the blessings and support of national recording artists and the favor of God.


The year of 2020 has been a challenging year for America, but God favor has allowed independent artists to gather in Mobile, Alabama, one more time for its grand celebration at Greater Vision of Faith Outreach Church.


The Voices of Gospel Music Awards was first formed in 2015 by Elder Gary Johnson of Mobile, Alabama, with a vision of recognizing, honoring, and appreciating independent gospel music artist, the music awards has grown into a national inspiring, unifying, and spiritual event that independent artists and fans enjoy attending every year.


In 2020 the Voices of Gospel Music Awards was blessed by the appearances of National Recording Artist Demetrius West of Blacksmoke Music

Worldwide, and National Recording Artist Pastor James Picnkney, Jr. These two artists was the highlight of the evening on Saturday, Sept. 12 in Mobile, AL, along with so many independent artists. Mr. West blessed the house with Open the Floodgates, and Pastor Picnkney went in with You Fight On.


Independent Artist such as Ebony Jarmon, Ora Sylvester, Dr. Yvonne Matthews, Jermaine Milton, Tyler Allen, and Michael Slater & Company all shinned and blessed the event with spirit filled music that moved the people with great expectations. God really let us see the talent that he blessed each of these artists with during these awesome performances.


“I just couldn’t cancel this event this year. I knew within that God was going to Bless it. This event turned out to be great despite the pandemic that we are in, and I am grateful that the people of God and so many independent artists that know their calling continued to support the event.”says Elder Gary Johnson the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the Voices of Gospel Music Awards.


Independent Gospel Recording Artist Jermaine C. Milton and Breaking Ground of Wichita, KS, was the artist of these year awards taking four categories. “Mr. Milton has talent, and he has a following that pushed him over the top in four of our categories in 2020. I admire his music and talent as an independent artist. God has great things for him. All of our 2020 winners has a special talent, and they are gifted and anointed. As I always say all of our nominees are winners.”says Elder Gary Johnson.


The 6th Annual Voices of Gospel Music Awards will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. Nominations will open soon on VOGMA website.
